Industrial cutting and bending processes are fundamental elements of the metal processing industry. These processes are used to transform raw metal materials into specific shapes, sizes and forms.
Cutting Process
Cutting is the process of separating or cutting metal sheets, rods, pipes and profiles into certain sizes and shapes. Industrial cutting operations are carried out by various methods:
- Plasma Cutting: It is the process of cutting metals using high speed hot plasma. It is especially used on conductive metals such as stainless steel and aluminum.
- Oxygen Cutting (Oxy-Gas Cutting): It is the process of cutting metal by burning it with oxygen. It is generally used for cutting thick steel plates.
- Laser Cutting: It is the process of cutting metal with high precision using a concentrated laser beam. It is preferred for thin materials that require precise cutting.
- Water Jet Cutting: It is the process of cutting metals with a mixture of high pressure water and abrasive material. It does not require heat treatment and is suitable for precision cutting.
- Mechanical Cutting: Cutting processes performed using saws, scissors or CNC machines. It is widely used in metal bars, sheets and profiles.
Twisting Process
Twisting is the process of forming metal parts by bending them at certain angles and shapes. The twisting process is also carried out by various methods:
- Mechanical Twisting: It is the twisting process using hydraulic presses or mechanical machines. It is generally used to bend sheet metal at certain angles.
- Hydraulic Press Bending: It is the bending of metals under high pressure using hydraulic systems. It is effective in bending large and thick metal parts.
- Cylinder Bending: It is the bending of metal sheets or plates by passing them between rollers. It is used to create cylindrical shapes.
- Thermal Bending: It is the process of shaping the metal more easily by heating it. It is especially used in bending large and thick metal parts.
- CNC Twisting: It is a bending process performed with high precision using CNC controlled machines. It is preferred in creating complex and precise shapes.
